How the FIFO resume scanner works
The scanner helps you see which parts of your experience are easy to find and which details may need checking. It is a writing aid for your selected role.
Updated 5 September 2026. Published by FIFO Ready.
What you supply
Select a role, then upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file, or paste your CV. The free scan does not require a job advertisement, email address or account. Each role has a set of common review topics, rather than the requirements of one particular vacancy.
What happens during a scan
- We extract readable text from an uploaded document, or use the text you paste.
- An initial keyword check looks for wording related to your role. For a diesel fitter this can include trade qualifications, maintenance, equipment, isolation procedures and work records.
- An AI-assisted read can consider the text in more detail. The results identify experience mentioned and details that were not found or need checking.
- If the detailed service is unavailable, the page says so and keeps the initial keyword findings available. Keyword matching can miss equivalent wording and context.
How to interpret the findings
“Mentioned” means that the supplied text contains relevant wording. It does not verify that you hold a licence or have performed the work. “Not found or needs checking” means the tool did not establish it from the text; it does not automatically mean you are unqualified.
Only add a detail if it is true. If a suggestion conflicts with your actual trade, training or experience, correct it or leave it out. Check the employer’s advertisement and application questions before submitting.
What this checker cannot tell you
- It cannot reproduce an employer’s applicant tracking system or private screening settings.
- It does not predict interviews, job offers or a recruiter’s decision.
- It does not verify credentials, work rights, employment history or the accuracy of a CV.
- It does not reliably assess the original document’s visual layout after text extraction.
- A role-based result is not a match to a specific job advertisement.
Your information and your choices
CV processing can involve AI service providers. Remove identity numbers, medical information and referees’ contact details before scanning. Read the privacy information for the current handling arrangements.
You can use the findings yourself and download them without buying a package. Optional human writing and AI products are explained on the pricing page. Reviews of Wizard Resumes relate to its human writing service.
