Before using the free scan
The free scan uses your CV text and selected role to prepare feedback. If you submit a job advertisement through an ad-based feature, we also use that text for the comparison. Uploaded PDF and DOCX files are sent to our server to extract text; pasted text and TXT files are sent for analysis when you start the scan. Our configured AI services include Anthropic (Claude) and, when enabled, xAI (Grok). Your submitted text may be processed by these providers outside Australia, including in the United States.
Google Cloud and Firebase support hosting, authentication, data storage and abuse prevention. Cloudflare Turnstile checks for automated abuse. Resend supports email delivery; Sentry supports error monitoring. Stripe processes payments. Operational records can include upload filenames, IP addresses, browser details and referral information. This is not a promise that all information is immediately deleted or never shared with a provider.
Remove identity document numbers, medical information and other people’s contact details before submitting. You may use the free scan without an account or email address, and download findings directly. Submitting a scan does not subscribe you to optional marketing. If you do not provide readable CV text and an advertisement, we cannot prepare the comparison.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Resume and cover letter documents are retained while your account is active and for 12 months after account closure to allow for re-downloads.

Chrome extension
The FIFO Ready Chrome extension (“extension”) reads job listing content (job title, company name, location, salary and description text) from supported job boards (SEEK, Indeed and LinkedIn) when you click the extension button. This data is sent to our servers solely to generate a tailored resume and cover letter for that role.
We collect the following data through the extension:
- Job listing content: Extracted from the page you are viewing, only when you initiate a generation. We do not read page content in the background or on pages you do not interact with.
- Authentication tokens: A Firebase authentication token is stored locally in the browser to keep you signed in. This token is never shared with third parties.
The extension does not collect browsing history, track your activity across websites, or transmit any data unless you explicitly click “Get Resume”. All data processing is subject to the same security and retention policies described in this document.
